FAQ Page

How do I hire you?

Connect through the Contact Me form or call (817) 907-6089. After learning the details of your project, we will connect to see if it's a good fit. If yes, I'll give you a budget, after which you’ll hire me and we will live happily ever after.

Do you have your own equipment?

Yes, and lots of it. I have pretty much everything needed for small- to medium-sized projects. What I don't own, I can rent. But I am also available without equipment, whether as a Cinematographer / DP, Director or Producer.

Are you available for travel?

Absolutely. I am based in Dallas, TX but my work has taken me all over the world. My Global Entry card and passport are ready to go and vaccinations are up to date. Since Covid arrived, I have taken several road trips for jobs across the USA, which has the added benefit of allowing me to bring a lot of gear. But I'll hop on a plane and go wherever the job requires.

Who owns the rights to the footage you shoot?

If you pay in a work-for-hire scenario, the footage belongs to you. I have no residual rights to commercialize the footage. If, however, I use my gear and my time without pay, then the footage belongs to me until licensed to you. The most important point is that we will agree to this BEFORE starting the project. You will know in advance exactly who owns the rights.

Who shot the drone footage on your website?

I did. I am a Part 107 FAA-licensed drone pilot with full drone liability insurance. I have flown many hours. My focus is combining smooth flying with a cinematic eye to capture film-like footage. If you haven't already done so, please watch the drone reel on the home page.

Do you take on spec projects?

Yes, for the right project. In fact, I am currently looking for a short- or full-length feature film to shoot as director or DP. If you have a script, I would be glad to read it. Maybe we can work together.

Do you recommend certain cameras or gear?

No. There is too much variety in cameras and gear to make blanket recommendations. I own two Panasonic S1H cameras that can shoot full frame 6k 12-bit RAW and are approved for Netflix productions. They are excellent cameras, but they are not the best camera for every shoot. My previous camera was a RED Epic-W Helium 8k, also an excellent camera. The same goes for every piece of gear, whether it's lighting, grip, audio, etc. - the gear must be matched to the specific requirements of each job.
